I assure you, Im no fan by any means. I appreciate the whole ‘we designed something completely different’ thinking, but like you, I can’t appreciate its actual design.

And a question for everyone - have the looks of that gen 5 series grown on you? I hated it when it came out, but now it’s just another BMW, and not bad looking at that ... especially the M5.

I was s ceptical when they came out, but they have grown on me and I even bought one about two years ago. So that should answer that.

I didnt hate it when it came out, but it really was one of those ‘one in a dozen’, usually grey/black lease cars. I do agree with you on them aging well though. On top of everything, I’ll always love the sounds that V10 makes.

First one was an ‘07 550, second one was an ‘09 535. Based mostly on the fact that I needed a dad car (the MR2 wouldn’t baby), and they drive like goddamn dreams. The V8 was a hoot, but was broken more often than not. The twin turbo 6 felt a lot lighter, and was, on the whole, a much better car, but I sometimes missed the crackle of the V8.

I really like the E60.

I really like the e60...when not working on it. Which is somewhat regularly (knock on wood, 2 months with no issues right now!)

Lol wut. Y ou think that’s the least reliable bmw? You apparently have never heard of the n63. Those things wouldn’t even make it to 40k. Also you know It bad when wiki even notes the Recall.

So great that you had that driving experience - perhaps one day I’ll rent a Turo M5. My BMW experience is lacking, as the only one I’ve driven (of many) that impressed me was a ‘76 2002 with only the radio option. My cousin’s car - the most pure driving experience I’ve had, with the possible exception of a ‘66 E Type.
